Seattle Skyline in Winter

Even though the days are getting lighter from here on out we are still in the dark time of winter. No better exemplified in the United States then by the darkness of Seattle, WA. I took these a few years back right around Christmas and was struck particularly by the clouds and sky in the photo below.  At 49 degrees latitude and stuck between the Olympic mountains and Eastern Cascade, those clouds can hug that city like the sun will never come out again. But it does.

The second photos are taken aboard the Bainbridge ferry where you get a lovely view of Downtown. Click on each photo for a larger view.
