I have stopped eating on $4 day. I had hoped to go for 30 days and demonstrate the potential of food but…I ended early.

In order to stick to eating on$4 per day, I modified this recipe from my friend Biz. The original recipe calls for maple syrup, which is costly and higher in sugar.

Catching up on last week’s progress. Turns out that the corn–6 ears for $1.oo was not so tasty.
I made some pseudo Kim Chi or rather fermented cabbage. It’s not really a true Kim Chi because it is not made with Chinese or napa cabbage but rather regular green cabbage.
I am not in a food desert by any means. Especially for those whom have little to spend on food.
Turns out last week there was a whole challenge devoted to eating on a meager budget by the San Francisco food bank (and Marin food bank) and I didn’t even know about it!
